Kindergarten Welcome Days - Recruiting New Parents

That's is great that your school offers that. I would give them information about PTO and what it has to offer their children. If you happen to have a simple calendar outlining activities sponsored by PTO. Let them know that you want them to be involved if their schedule allows them to. How PTO work hand in hand with the school administration to bring successful programs for the children to benefit and learn. I would keep it simple and not to much so it's not overwhelming. Also, a membership form would be helpful. If you have any photos of events like a scrapbook if you have a website give them that as well. Make them magnets with the PTO Mission Statement and they can put it on their fridge. Lots of times the kinder parents are so enthuised about their children starting school and they are willing to help out. You may want to cover volunteer opportunities. That's where the calendar would come in they may see a event where they might help in. You can make folders to hand out to them with all this information. How about a list of important numbers usually the school district already has these printed. If you want to make magnet with important numbers such as the
School Office, Nurse, Counslor, Library and Transportation. These are just some quick thoughts I hope they help you out.

Our Kindergarten Welcome days are coming up in March.

We've never "recruited" parents before and thought this would be a great opportunity to introduce them to our PTO.

What can we say to get these NEW and bright-eyed parents on board?

What kind of literature can we give them?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
