While searching on my hard drive for some prior teacher appreciation ideas - I rediscovered another document that I had received long ago. I'm not sure where it originalted, but if you want a copy of it let me know.

and has some great ones - some you've proabably seen before and maybe a few others you wanted to get sometime.

We are going to buy a travel mug(we can find these at a dollar store) and have it personalized with the staff person's name on it then fill it up with candy. Last year we found these cute notepads, pens and post it notes that had PTA making a difference on them I believe they were purchased from www.pta.org
The teacher apprec. gifts sound great. We are a middle school, so we do a couple different kinds of gifts. One year we gave each teacher a gift certificate at a local bagel shop for free coffee and a bagel. We also had post-it notepads made up with our school name and gave a stack to each teacher. One of our parents is a graphic designer and donated the design and notepads. We only paid for the printing. The Hershey kisses are a great idea. I think we'll try that this fall.
Thumbs up for the Ruler idea that resulted in"name tags" for the teachers. This is one we've done before and they LOVED it!
Also, an ever popular one was the "Goodie Bag" for new items for the teacher to use (female and male teachers alike). We all know that they spend a fortune out of pocket for daily classroom items. So a trip to Office Depot (to buy in bulk) and you can help the teacher start the year with new items.
Get brown lunch bags and write their name of the front (just like mom does for the student).
Insert - red pens, fairly large sticky note pads (maye the lined ones), some chalk (if inserting seperate pieces - wrap four or more pieces in rafia), a highlighter or two, smal packages of: push pins, and clips (for all those sets of papers they take home to grade), etc. etc.
They love these new items and never have enough of any of them.
Punch holes in the top of the lunch bag, and tie a rafia bow on it. Keep it simple!
