For the school needing funds...
We currently have 4 elementary schools with the 5th scheduled to open this fall. All of the other elementary schools donate funds totalling up to and not over 2000.00 for the school. We decided on this figure because if we keep donating 500.00 each == well then you guessed it by the time the 10th elementary school opens they won't need to fundraise!!

We asked for our Superintendent to help us out by requesting a minimum of 50$ from each school in the district to help set us up. It has gone over very well, we had about $1200.00 to help set up one school. It sure helped with filing for the neccessary documents we needed. We also hold a First day festival at our Elementary schools where the kids came to meet thier new teachers, see thier classrooms, open lunch accts, check bus schedules, join PTO, buy t-shirts and other spirit items. We sell coffee, juice, donuts, kolaches, etc if it is in the morning or if in the aftrenoon, we sell pizza, cokes, water, desserts. Our PTO really reaps the benefits cause we make money on concessions, memberships, spirit shirts, jackets etc. Good Luck!!!!

To start perhaps you could have a cook-off or carwash. Perhaps that would give you enough money to do a Back-to-school Bash or Carnival of some sort.

Help! We are having our first PTO meeting June 15 and I am not sure where to start. Brand new school (opens 8/16) so we have no money in budget. We need fast money fundraisers and I really want to have a lot of kids activities. Any suggestions on how to start?
