We filed this past year and I can share what we used for Part II, but the questions are very specific to what the individual organization does. You'll probably need to make major changes, but at least the structure is there and it's in e-format so most of the typing is done.
Curious why the rush? If your treasurer has taken two months already, why are you being pressured to finish it all in an afternoon? Is there an outside deadline, or just the natural desire to complete the task?
The application is a tedious and time-consuming job. Two months is not an unreasonable amount of time, depending on how much time the treasurer can devote each week and how easy it is to get the data that the IRS requires.
2 months ago our treasurer was suppose to file our 1023 form. This morning she dropped everything by my house and told me it needed to be done and she did not have the time but it has to be done for our meeting tonight. I have almost all of it done and am stuck on the Part II section about Activites and Operational Information.
Has anyone done this recently? Would you be willing to send me a copy of what you did so I could modify it? I would really appreciate it. I wouldn't ask but I have about an hour to finish all of this before heading off to work.
