2 Fold Question about the Room Parent Organizer

20 years 10 months ago #98395 by venzmama
We have 7 exec board positions: 4 officers, Homeroom Parent Chair, Welcome Committee Chair, and Staff Appreciation Chair. This is for a school of 150 students. Our HPC more than earns her position on the exec board as she's the key to getting volunteers for almost every event.

Our RPC is on the Executive Board. For a school with about 800 kids, in addition to the officers there are about 25 on the Exec Board. That's a little on the small side compared to others in our area, but we're also a brand new school.

I guess our logic was that it's mostly only Exec Board people who come to the monthly meetings, so the more the merrier. To the extent people are willing to be involved, we're willing to let them.

We are a PTA(new 2nd year)and a new school. I would like to know PTA or PTO how many RPC are on the Executive board?

This position is new to our school this year, let me add that we are a Magnet school so therefor parents must complete 18 hours service/volunteer time to the school. So in essence she does alot of organizing for the school with the rm parents as well as PTA.

The person who has taken this job is in an uproar and causing much discord with new parents.
She feels that she should be added to the executive board because she is RPC.

How should we handle this situation?
