Principal Problems

First it's only 12:07 here (I can't sleep)....

With a set a by-laws in your hand hopefully your officer team AND (if you can) the support or past officers, yeah, your principal is being unreasonable. BUT if this has been done in the past I'm not sure what to tell ya. Being that your new and I don't know your PTO it's hard to tell ya YOU BET SHE'S GONE MAD! CUT HER OFF AND TELL HER TOFIND HER OWN PTO.... no....no don't do that...

Do your homework here, talk to other parents that have been around, ask them, talk to last years officers.

A possible happy middle, offer to put together the assemblys so her staff or teachers can focus on their work....that way the PTO is spending the money and you may even be able to apply for or ask about discounts she wouldn't because it's not her money she is spending.

I would do some checking around first. $9000 is alot of money.

I have a question for any one who is willing...

I am new to the PTO and was under the impression we are an organization that votes. This is not a dictatorship, the principal has no right to yell at me because she wants a bulk check made out to her without the PTO involved in the spending.

Is this policy with any other PTO.

How would you respond to this?

We have explained that we have less then 1,500 right now due to last years board. We have also inherited many bills.

Yet she insists that WE will be paying for 1 assembly a month at least. That is over $9,000 worth of assemblies.

HELP!

I don't know how to aproch this without freaking out.

Stressed,
