This year our school budget vote is likely to be very contentious. Our district spans two counties one of which recently went through a real estate assessment reevaluation. One side of the districts school taxes will go up by about 8% the other by 25%.
My question is: Can we as a school association actively back the budget? In the past we have only tried to get the vote out - we never publicly had a position. We are not yet a 501c but will be applying shortly.
