Ugh, why volunteer to chair?

Yah know Jess, last year as Prez, the ONLY help I got was from the hospital when I GAVE BIRTH!!! lol Seriously, I begged last year and this year we have so many new parents helping I have a hard time Chairing which is goofy but anyway.

I love the Moms that come to the very first meeting and "OH!!! I'll do that! I did it last year at my old school." Only to never see tham again and wonder if this is how she did it at the other school! HA HA!

I hope your dance turns out alright and you do have a good time with this!

Goodness Gracious! I call the chair of our Mardi Gras Dance (which is this sat night) this morning to ask her how much change she would need for the cash box and low and behold she informed me that she had NO people lined up to help with decorating, check-in, clean up, NOTHING!

Okay so now I'm wondering when she was going to think about asking for help???? This same parent also chaired the dance last year, so she HAS to know that she'll need help!

I don't know. This just IRKed the crap out of me today and I knew you people would understand! Now my simple task of calling to find out how much change to get has turned into me helping with decorating, running & clean up (which I really don't mind) and also arranging all volunteers!! YAHOO

Okay, okay, I know that a few people do the work for enjoyment of the many. Isn't that an unwritten rule of PTO? But gee it seems even worse when the people who you think are helping you are really not! I shouldn't say that, she didn't do alot of work, just didn't get any volunteers to help her!

Anywhoo, just venting here! Jess
