So both awards are currently decided by teacher vote? And the "PTO T&V" really means "TotY 1st runner-up"? An interesting situation.

If you don't want it to be a simple vote, then I would suggest putting together a committee to make the selection. Any parent or teacher (other than the committee?) may make a nomination, and a form is provided that allows them to explain why they think the nominee should be honored. The committee would then meet, review the nominations, possibly have follow-up conversations with the nominators, and make their selections.

I was wondering if anyone out there has "PTO Teacher and Volunteer of the Year"? At our school the teachers vote for "Teacher of the Year" and the runner-up is voted "PTO Teacher and Volunteer of the Year". The situation here is that being a PTO parents also need a say in this. We are wondering on how to go about in voting for this. We want this to be fair. Not to have teacher with the most kids win just because she has the most kids. PLEAASE HELP!!
