We give each classroom teacher $75 dollars a semester. The reading, math, speech and those type teachers get $75 a year. It really adds up too. I think we ended up giving out almost $1800 this semester. But next semester won't be so bad since we only have to give the classroom teachers money. There are 16 of those. We used to require receipts before they get their money. This year, we decided to just use the honor system and give them the money up front. But then I read something on here that a members state required it. You might do some research on here to find out.

In our schools we do not do wishlists, although, I know a lot of schools do. Instead we have "mini grant" forms available for the teachers. If they need something for their classrooms all they have to do is fill out the request form and it gets presented to a general meeting where it is put up for discussion and then vote, For the most part, all grants are usually granted.

We do give each teacher and special teachers $50 worth of books when our bookfair occurs in the Fall. It is up to them to come to the fair and pick out what they want. They are very appreciative of this.

Thats what we do. Hope it is usefull information.

We are in the process of fulfilling the teachers wish lists. We would like to know how other schools handle the amount given each teacher. Do you treat the speech teacher, reading teacher and other specialized teachers the same as classroom teachers? Does everyone get the same dollar amount, or does it depend on amount of time spent in building, how many children are serviced? Any help would be appreciated.
