Thanks for all of the info. I did find some other places also. Limit Too give $5.00 off purchases. Krispy Kreme Donuts 1 free doghnut for each "A", up to 6 per grading period.

Hope we all spread the word.....let the children get these rewards.

Honor Roll Bingo Details

We include grades 4 - 8. We start right after lunch time, so from about 12:30 - 2:15. When the kids arrive, they get to have a treat, ice cream and a soda (the Parent Club purchased or gets these things donated). Our president congradulates all of them for earning good grades and tells them all how proud we are of them, etc.
We start the games about 1:00 and play until it is time to send them back to class to show off.

The first time we did this, we had 5 or 6 big prizes, but found that some of the kids were really disappointed when they did not win, so we changed it so that we have smaller prizes and more of them, (2-3 per game). We also give away raffle prizes during the games, so that everyone has a chance to win. The prizes are donations from local businesses and purchases made by the Parent Club.

For our other school, the K-3, we have recogination certificates and prizes that we give away to deserving kids (the teachers get to choose these winners - they can be math, reading or social).

Hope this helps.

If you have a Blockbuster Video Store by you ( I am in NJ) they have a promotion out now called "Good Grades, Free Rentals". If your report card show a B-A average, you can bring your report card with parents signature to a Blockbuster store and you get a free rental. Our elementary school does not give letter grades, so if your child has a "satisfactory" average that is, also, acceptable.

I got this information off of Blockbuster Video's website and shared it with the principals of both our schools and Superintendent. We printed it in both the school's newsletters, as well as, the Home & School's newsletter.

We have Honor Roll Bingo!

All kids who make Honor Roll, get to take an afternoon off and play bingo in the gym. We get donations from movie houses and package them with a box of licorice and a six pack of soda. The kids love it. We serve ice cream and popcorn during the games and everyone has a great time. We always excuse them to go back to class about 10 minutes before school is out and it really works as a motivator. The kids go back and cause a commotion, laughing and talking about how much fun it was, and the number of honor roll kids increases every grading period. It may have nothing to do with what we do, but it couldn't hurt.
