check out the discussion entitled “Vice President position details†in Robt's Rules, ByLaws, Legal section. you have a golden opportunity and as Kelly said, you're able to bring a "different" perspective to the table. don't be afraid to voice your opinion.... (you're already standing out in the crowd).
I don't have much to offer by way of advice because our VP position has never been responsible for much. It just gets lost in the shuffle. Definitely talk with the Prez and see what needs to be done and how you can best accomplish that together. Being a father, you have the wonderful opportunity to bring in a different point of view to the PTO and also can perhaps spearhead some activities to get more fathers involved. This site has had great suggestions on getting fathers more involved, if you need ideas.
