We do our Santa shop on a saturday. The kids shop in the gym and in the caf we have our raffle table, book fair, bake sale and pictures with Santa. We have 2 raffles 1 with some big prizes that the kids bring tickets home to sell the other is a chiense raffle. WE make about 500.00 on this with everything and it is quick. We have the older middle school kids help the younger ones in with the shopping.

Major Fund Raisers was created by Marianne
For many, many years now our major Home and School fund raiser has been the annual Christmas Bazaar. I'm sure when it was first started it was a good idea, but over the years it has disintegrated into a low-class, indoor carnival. The only connection to Christmas anymore is the craft table, which has also lost interest. It was intended as a way for people to make and donate homemade crafts but lately we've had to resort to purchasing them from catalogs due to lack of interest. We have games of chance, games for the kids, and food. The kids hang out all day and the parents (those who do come)stay for no more than 1 hour. As president, I'm tired of it, and in fact, embarrassed by it. I'd love to get rid of it but it does raise about $8000 annually. I'd love to have ideas about what fund raisers on this level have worked for you. I would replace it in a heartbeat if I knew I could guarantee the same income. It's already scheduled for this year so my change would come next year. I like the idea of something "Christmasy" but I'm open to any and all suggestions. Please help me put this thing out of its misery. :(
