I have used (an old version) of Quicken for 2 years and have found it very easy to use. It is especially great for posting activity against your budget categories and for doing check reconciliation (never takes more than 2 minutes per month!).

On the other hand, I still post the monthly figures to Excel to get the report I want to share with the members each month. I haven't found a way to show Budget, Actual-to-date, and Variance on one report within Quicken. Any advice?

I am also a new treasurer for this upcoming school year. I think I will be using Quicken, but I haven't gotten any of the info yet. Would love to have a copy of Critter's famous forms?

Although I am not the Treasurer or our PTO, I thought the forms were great!!! Our Treasurer hate me because I make her do her job, so she isn't pleased with using the forms, but I DON'T CARE!!! LOL We had a lot of money come up missing last year, and if these forms can help us eliminate that, then by all means, we will use them. I too am interested in knowing what software you all use to do your bookeeping on. The way our Treasurer does it is so confusing. She never has the profits on there, an often puts things in under "mixed deposits". There are several of us parents who want her out, but most of the board is willing to stick with her. They don't see thru her charade of pleasantries. Any ideas on how to get rid of her when the board is oblivious to her?

I would love to get a copy of Critters forms. I have a feeling things are going to change this year in our organization and the parents are going to be more involved and will want more information on what money is received and where it is spent. So anything you have that will help me I would really appreciate. Also does anyone have any recommendations for a computer software to use to input the checks & deposits and print outa report in a format that I can present at each months meetings on our expenses and receipts? I am new to PTO today,thank goodness I found this webpage!!I am taking over as treasurer this school year, after our last one has been charged with stealing our funds. I am a good bookkepper at home, but could use some tips, forms and any advice that you could give me pertaining to PTO treasurer reports and such.
