PRINCIPAL SABOTAGED ELECTIONS/MEETING

22 years 1 month ago #96405 by ranchgoddess
PRINCIPAL SABOTAGED ELECTIONS/MEETING was created by ranchgoddess
I am the outgoing PTO President. I did not realize there were any bylaws in the last two years. I received a note saying something about the bylaws and requested them from the principal (some call Hitler.) The bylaws were sent and they knew there must be elections held during the month of May and during the meeting there must be nominations taken from the floor, also. Well, the principal canceled the May meeting (due to a bomb threat at a high school, and the other PTO meetings in the county went on as normal) She wanted to "hand pick" her officers for the next year and so when I asked her to help me reschedule the meeting she didn't. I ended up rescheduling the meeting (along w/the help of some of the executive board members) and we asked her to send a note home with the kids of the resched.meeting. Well, she refused and I had to go to the Supr.of schools & a sch.board memb. to get a note sent home about the resched. meeting. She's on fire by now and sends a note home that says the meeting is rescheduled, no agenda and no programs are planned and that the teachers will be unable to attend the meeting AND ANNOUNCED THE OFFICERS OF THE NEXT TWO YEARS (before the May meeting's elections!!) There were very few people at the meeting and yet we were represented by the school employees and parents. We voted (according to the bylaws) and now the principal is getting a petition to say they want another election!! WHAT?? There was a notice sent home, it was in/on the local newspaper & radio. You don't show, and you boycott it, too bad, you didn't vote... What do you think?? I did everything according to the bylaws. And I still got slammed. (I haven't seen the petition yet)
Thanks for your help!!
