Our PTO President is out of control

22 years 6 months ago #95862 by mykidsmom
We had a Prez like that last year and now no one wants to be involved. The tough part is putting a leash on the new Prez! The good thing you mentioned is the concern your Principal has-- that is reasuring! How long will this person be in this office? If it's only for a few months, hang in there...if longer, it's time the 'village' let this person know their feelings/issues.

She is the President of the PTO not the dictator. It is majority rules for most things so the group should be able to stop it. Granted the president has some power but that power should be challenged if it is out of control.

Our PTO President resigned. The VP elect is now the president and has been reeking havoc ever since she has taken over the position. Some of her favorite quotes, "we need to police the situation", "you volunteer, you own it". We are small school, with parents who really want to be involved, but don't take too well to intimidation. The principal is beside herself with concern and has told her if her behavior continues she will discontinue the roll of the PTO at the school. Our options at this point are, for her to resign, or the rest of the board will resign, or the principal will disban the PTO. Please help us!!!
