To the Families at Breed Elementary School. You may be aware that recently one of our families, the _______ Family, suffered the loss of their mother and wife _______________. In an effort to support the family during this terribly difficult time, we are asking our school parents to consider making a donation to assist the ________Family financially. Any donation you care to make will be thankfully received and combined with others so that we can ease at least one aspect of this burden.

Our PTO will be creating and presenting "Certificates of Kindness" to our students whose families are in a position to assist with any donation. Our sincere thanks for your consideration of our efforts to help one of our own.

Ifyou have any questions, please contact us at ___________.

I REALLY hope someone can help me out with this. A student at our school has suffered the loss of his Mother...very sad. This family was already suffering financial hardship, so it's even more important to us to have a fundraiser for the family.
We usually do a "Hat Day", "Favorite Team Day" or "Pajama Day" for this type of situation, but we haven't had a great response in the past, so this time we decided to give a "Certificate of Kindness" to any student who makes a donation for the family.
Now, my problem....I have to make up a notice to send home asking for donations and explaining what we're doing. I am drawing a complete blank on this one...idea's anyone?
