Attendance

Tim - It is required at our school to be involved in your child's education. You can do so by attending PTO meetings, volunteering 2 hours per month or attending the board meetings. This is after YEARS of parents not being involved. Parents not caring how their children act at school and parents not helping their children learn. So one of these 3 items are required for your child to attend. Maybe if parents did some of these items voluntarily it would not be required. We would love some parents that give up their free time to help out the school....if they only would.

Any other suggestions?

Sorry to hijack thread, but "attendance is required"???? Or what? You won't let me give up my free time anymore to help the school?

We used sign in sheets at our elementary. We put it right on the table by the door with the agenda and any other papers relevant to the meeting. I suppose a few might have missed signing in, but maybe you could add having the President ask if everyone signed in right before the meeting begins, then circulate the sign in sheet through the crowd. You could also have someone greeting people as they enter and making sure they sign in.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.
