Yes, 2 signers on EVERY check is a must. You might want to authorize your VP, too, so you can have two signers if the check is a reimbursement to you or the Pres (you shouldnt' sign a check made out to yourself). There's lots of other basic financial controls that will take the stress out of your job. Order the Treasurer's Toolkit from this website. It has tons of info about being a PTO Treasurer and a CD with forms etc. I promise you'll feel more prepared if you have a copy of that binder.
