monthly meetings

We have done a few. When there have been issues going on in the school district we have had the superintendent/assist. superintendent speak, the school nurse has done presentations on health and safety issues, the music teacher did a program on her department, and we had a safety program for kids. You don't have to spend money to do them, just think of things that would be important issues your parents would like to learn more about and then go from there. At our middle school we are planning a night for next year where we will have segments on internet safety and alcohol and drug abuse prevention. Our local police department and a specialist from the drug treatment center will help us with these.

Does anyone do a program/speaker in conjunction with your monthly PTO meeting?

Where do you find them? What sort of program do you do?
