You might want to try UGROO Web Hosting ( UGROO Web Hosting - Home About ) It's $12/month, but they offer a 30 day free trial so you can decide if it's right for you before spending any money...

I was able to get in touch with the folks at orgsites. They recently made some upgrades and did have some issues but they believe most have been resolved. If you are still having issues with your orgsites page - you can contact their customer support at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Hope this helps!

We heard about this site from another PTO. We're looking into them now but they seem legit. They offer free web hosting to K-12 schools in the US. This is the link to the terms:
lunarpages.com/education.php

They provide general web hosting services that are fee-based but have a free service for schools.

Yeah, I haven't heard any negatives. Just my Spidey Sense that has me wondering about something that appears too good to be true....

Site is up this morning. At least both of mine come up with no problem.

We've been using orgsites for a couple of years now. I had one incident where I somehow reprogrammed a page and it screwed everything up. They had to delete the site and I had to start from fresh again. It wasn't as bad as it sounds. After the original creation, I had lots of new ideas on how to set it all up. This just forced me to do it.

Tim -
The site is still free to use. The downside is the address isn't easy for the masses to remember. We fixed that with our sports group by purchasing an easier domain with GoDaddy and then link it to the orgsites address.

I don't get any spam/scam email or popup advertising with this group. On the otherhand, I have used the contact us in regard to their homepage Feature Sites. I don't think that list has changed in - well way too long - and how they picked them. To no eval, I received no response from them.

Orgsites has done wonders for our school. It has given us the opportunity to use a website and learn about posting to one with no cost incurred. (Just my hours at the computer trying to come up with more info to update!)

Dayub - hopefully you can get back on now.

That's very interesting. The site looks down right now.

I've always wondered (and have made some back-channel inquiries that have received no response) about the business model there. It is/was free (or close), right? And with little/no advertising?

Hope for you and so many groups that my worries haven't come true.
