I'd just give them the money that should have received from the split out of the general PTO fund...d

Well, the president is just one person and just one vote so she doesn't get to say how it's divided.

You say in your original post

the treasurer and president divided the money per game not teacher

In any group I've been part of this would be an item that requires a vote and not left up to two people to decide. If you don't have a regular meeting scheduled soon I'd suggest you send an email message to all board members regarding the situation and ask for feedback from everyone. You shouldn't have to face the president alone and she shouldn't be making the decision alone. Surely if she knew there were negative feelings among the teachers she would act in the best interest of the community.

I agree the amount should be divided equally amongst the teachers( amount of money divided by the # of teachers) How do I approach this? Our president gets ticked off if you challenge her, and she likes to hold grudges too, and guess what I'm the vice president so everyone comes to me because they don't want to deal with her... So I get to deal with her. I just need a easy way to approach her.

I agree wholeheartedly with Crew Chief. No matter what some games are more popular than others. and different activities have different staffing needs.

The entire amount should have been divided by number of teachers. Frankly, if you have the funds available, I'd go back to the teachers that were shorted and give them an equal amount now.

This kind of thing can cause so much trouble and can spiral out of control. Fix it now if you can - don't just wait until next carnival.

I have to say I agree with the teachers who think it should be divided by # of teachers worked. If a game requires two teachers then those two worked just as hard as the one teacher games.

If the two teachers have to split their game's cut then you're basically telling them that their contribution to the carnival was only worth half of everyone else's contributions. That's bound to hurt feelings.

You didn't ask, but I also have to say that I would never distribute the profits based on each game's performance. There is no good way to tell which games will outperform and then teachers are rewarded or punished for variables out of their control. Then, next year, you have a big fight on your hands when teachers argue over who gets which game.

Ok--here is the problem, we recently had a carnival in our elem. at the teachers meeting prior to the carnival we decided to let the teachers decide on how the money was going ot be split.. either they get half of the money of their game or we just divide the money equally so ever teacher gets the same amount of money. The teachers decided to divide the money equally.Ok here is the problem, we had some games that required two people to work so, two teachers worked one game, the treasurer and president divided the money per game not teacher and some teachers are ticked and saying they will not participate in the carnival next year.. Please advise..Thanks
