I figured as much since I got the idea from reading through some archived postings on this message board. I presented the idea to my board over the summer and than your letter last month was perfect timing. I pretty much used your words at our Aug PTO meeting and it was but to a vote and passed easily.

Our PTO has decided not to charge membership dues this year and hopefully here on out. But the previouse Treasurer says she believes there is a 'requirement' as a nonprofit incorporation that we charge something for membership- she doesn't recall if someone just told her that or if she actually read it in the original incorporation forms filed by the lawyers.
Our school is located in Southren NJ if that matters. Please, I would love any any all insight and advice since or Back to School Night is this Tues 9-12.
