Our principal from last year explained to the new guy that he should not have control over the check book, but it seems that he just wants control over everything. to me he should not have control over the money. he has spent money from PTO for pizzas for meetings and spent money on a botched dinner dance, (they had to cancel) so we lost money.

How is your PTO established and how does your principal have access to spending your money?
Our principal as with most other groups could not touch the money because they have no access to it or authority to spend it. Does your group have bylaws?

Principal HELP was created by Coleman PTO
I have been a member of our PTO for 3 years. All the teachers and parents call me the "president." That role I take seriously. This year we have a new principal and he has taken over our meetings, what we discuss in our meetings and has even spent PTO money without talking to the PTO. I WILL not give up on our kids. I feel that the PTO should be able to talk about topics that the principal does not like. He actually hushes and shushes us in meetings.I want to see our funds and just how much he has spent. HELP PLEASE!!!
