Your school could probably apply for the grant and you could have a parent/member of your PTO write the application if that helps offload the work. Since your PTO is a committee of the school rather than an independent 501c3, you probably can't present your PTO as the grant requestor. Ultimately it depends upon the conditions of the grant. Read the application carefully and make sure the group that applies for the grant is eligible to receive it.

We currently use the schools TIN for all our needs.

My questions is, can we apply for grants for our playground using the schools TIN.
