Executive Board Meetings - Stuffy and Unnecessary or Important?

18 years 7 months ago #102942 by ScottMom#1
Technically we don't do Exec meetings but since no one but the Exec board has come to meetings (with a few exceptions) in 3 years, we really don't hold seperate meetings. If we had more people come, I could see doing them. Personally, I like the meeting before school starts the best because I know there won't be any surprises, just good planning and discussing time among members.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Before anyone starts freaking out on me--I'm looking for back-up here!!! I've been accused of wanting to make things TOO formal with "unnecessary" rule following. (I find this humorously ironic, seeing as I've always been fond of "The Authority Song" by JC Melloncamp, and have what others say is "an issue with authority").

While I understand how people can be threatened by the idea of executive board meetings and feel they're exclusionary, I also feel they are REALLY important.

And let the commenting begin.......NOW!
