The money-thats probably going to be the next battle-dont know the answers. Its a shame because its hard to get volunteers for many events. I cannot with my heart support whatever happens next-I am hoping the rest of the community realizes what has happened and gets angry and vocal. The district is hurting the children-although they will probably hide behind the moto "its for the children" and try to make us out like the bad guys. I dont know how this principal will handle this-he has not been very involved with our activities up to this point-it should be quite interesting who helps.

Wow....What a shame it had to come to this.

Where are the funds from your group? Are they planning on taking possession of the money in your account? Is your board planning on giving them the account?

While the principal continues to run these events will he have the help and support of parent volunteers to get the job done?

I personally do not like the fact that they want to establish a new group and that they will create the bylaws and decide how the money is spent.

Unfortunately they have the right to allow you to not operate within the school and it is really sad that this has happened.

How can you handle it....I don't really know. I can only imagine how devestated you all must be right now. The parent volunteers can certainly not support the principal and the new group they create (when they create it). You can certainly all choose not to support any fundraisers and thus kill their chances of making any money to work with. But ultimately in the end the children are the ones who will be hurt and pay the price for this.

For several years now there has been tension between the staff and the parents group. There was a big blowout at a recent open meeting-parents, staff, board -it was not pretty. The staff and principal want basically more control and power over us-especially how the money is spent. They say we have been disrespectful-likewise on our side. The district has now said that they will no longer recognize us as a group to their school-they did not try to problem solve-phone calls not answered, letters not answered. As of now the principal will be in charge of all activities-they say all activities will continue, but with the principal running these! Every year the parents board has been made up of a mixture of parents-some new some from the previous year-so who has the problem here? Te school says they now will form a new group at some point and the school and staff will write the bylaws!

Hi! Why did this happen? For what reason did they put the group out? Are they planning on starting up a new group or a different type of group?

I am having a very hard time dealing with being ousted out of our school-the whole group has been ousted. We run almost all of the extra functions at the school-fundraisers-hotlunch etc. its quite a sad feeling and an angry one at the same time. Our fellow parents at the school want to know what they can do? I tell them "I don't know-things will be very different now-i dont know how to change it-its in the parents hands and the districts! We are all dedicated people giving countless hours to volunteer-and run activities. I find myself in unfamiliar waters. HELP :(
