An audit is in order and I can olny hope if you went into the bank with your Principal and explained to a Head Teller your situation and concerns.

Filing charges??? Yes and no. Not sure if you have enough proof but this is a good thing to explain to the bank regarding this account. You may also want to change your account number...never know how many checks they have left! This is also a good thing to just ask. Do you know the DARE officer for your school well enough to talk to him? This may also be an issue your principal can ask the school district's legal eagles...

I forgot to welcome you! This is such a serious issue though. This is just my htoguhts though, hang in there...theres a couple people here that have survived this kind of nightmare!

I do want to add, if you have the time and energy to have a fundraiser, make sure you have someone "over your shoulder"! Your best bet right now, try a family night out at different resturants...easy.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH hang in there. You have only just begun and with the help of everyone you will get throught this!

Hi everyone,

This is my first post and I'm hoping that you all can come through with an answer to my dilemna. In 2004 our school held an election for new pto officers. The election was due mainly in part because of the way the past pto president had been running things. To make a long story short their were dues paid by no notice was ever given to parents as to where that money went. (Was told it was for national dues...not true) There was also a printer that was purchased without our approval.

Anyways, by the summer we had new officers in place. Myself included (elected to secretary)However, the past president would not turn over any bank statements. By the start of school one officer moved, a few months later the Vice-President resigned and I was appointed to her spot. Which meant we now only had two officers, the president and myself. Because we had no treasurer the President only had his name on the account. Now several months later their are allegations of more money misuse (NSF FUNDS notice sent to school).

The communication between the president and myself have been very sparse at best. I have made numerous requests to get bank statements but the president won't give up that information. Now the principal wants to do an internal audit. The other day the president said that they had the requested information (bank statements)available for me. Only to find that instead it was an envelope with money (our pto funds..minus $100 or so). I can only assume that he has resigned from his post which now moves me to the President's position (with no one else on the executive board)

The bank won't release any information because only his name was on the account. So how do i proceed with this huge mess that has been created? Should I try and even have a funraiser this year? Should we file criminal charges?
