Executive Meeting agendas

19 years 10 months ago #100126 by Critter
I've only presided over one Exec Board meeting, but I didn't have a standard agenda, just a list of issues we needed to discuss. In the past (I've been an officer in other capacities for several years), I don't think our pres has ever handed out an agenda for the Exec meeting, she just referred to her personal list. But I think it's helpful to let everyone (even just the 6 of us)know what we need to discuss, and especially for the principal who attends our Exec Bd meetings, so he knows when we are "finished".

For our general meetings, our agenda hasn't changed much over the years.

Welcome - especially new parents
Approval of last meeting's minutes
Treasurer's Report
President's Report - any news not covered elsewhere
Principal's Report
Committee Reports - about 5 minutes per
New Business (our Old Biz is usually buried in the Prez or Comm reports so we don't have a formal separate section for it)
Announcements - next meeting is....
Adjourn

We print out a hardcopy agenda for general meetings and try to copy something useful on the reverse (i.e. trez report, list of committee chairs, upcoming events, or similar items)

We also print a hardcopy of our last month's minutes which are reviewed and approved at the meeting.

This year, we're going to try to also use our page(s) on the school's website to post our agendas, and minutes. Hope to get the word out electronically this year, in addition to paper.

Can anyone share with me a sampling of executive meeting agendas? And while you're at it, can you share general meeting agendas as well? Our elected President resigned, so I was voted in to take her place---new to this position (held every other position in the last 6 years, but never the BIG one!). So I need all the help I can get. The agenda she and previous presidents have used need a little help, I think, because they are too vague.
