Hi, saw your post and had to respond. My old school has done Square One for the past 3 years.. it's great. We had opposition from the "old guard" of the PTO to get it started, but it's been a great success. It can get a little old when you do it every year, but it's great for gifts for the family.. grandparents LOVE Square One stuff. And the new families coming in think it's great. They are very easy to deal with, their products are delivered on time and most of the stuff can go home with the kids, so you don't have to sit around waiting for parents to pick it up. The kids like it becuase their personal art is memorialized forever.. even if you just get a magnet, it's on your fridge till the end of time. They love that! I still have a picture that looks like a turkey running amok throught the woods on my fridge! (it's actually a brown peacock, I'm told)

Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth... I think square one is a great fundraiser..

We used Square One as a fund raising project last year. Our school is around 60% free and reduced lunch. We did not do as well as we would like to have. It's a neat project but expensive for our families.

We did one last year and timed it so that projects could be received in time for Mother's Day. It was the first time we had ever tried it, and we did it at the middle school level, only for those kids who had art that particular semester. We made about $3500 from it and were pleased with that. We're going to use them twice this year--we've got one going on now for Christmas, and we'll do it again in the spring for Mother's Day. (Most kids only have art for one semester, so it's not really repeating it to the same group of kids.)

Just wondering what the time frame of that project is...Would it be worth doing it if we did this after Christmas? If your school did it, how much did you make?

Thanks!
