that is a great idea!

but we don't have access to the school kitchen.
Honestly I don't even think we have a "stove" just the oven and fridges/ or I just might be really blind.

Our spaghetti dinners are like the above. We usually use the styrofoam take-out containers. We cooked in the school cafeteria and gave people salad, spaghetti, meatballs, breadsticks and had small premade containers with lids that had ice cream in them for dessert. We charged $6 for adults and $3 for children but we did not ask families for donations. Pasta was donated and everything else was purchased in bulk through cafeteria. Anything we did not use the cafeteria bought back.

Well, I'm hardly an expert, but we did just have our Spaghetti Dinner last week so...
First, do a search on this site for Stone Soup; they will donate pasta if you live in certain areas.
Our school asks for donations from each grade-K brings in bread, another grade brings the sauce, salad dressing, pasta, etc. Any shortfalls are made up by the PTA. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children over 3, and this year the teachers did a little (funny) show. The Spaghetti Dinner is traditionally something teachers have helped us with, cooking, serving, selling tickets, whatever. Normally they donate the desserts to the PTA and ONE is included in your meal; that was being abused, so we started having separate tickets for the desserts, and then this year Student Council took over selling dessert. Less stress for us and money for them.
When my eldest son was in pre-school they did a take home spaghetti dinner every few months. You told them how many you needed and they were waiting for you when you picked up your child. Pasta, bread and salad were included, but I don't remember dessert being part of it. I don't recall how much they charged but it must have been a good price since it seemed like everyone took advantage of it. They used styrofoam takeout containers though, not pots.
It seems to me you'd be better off selling the spaghetti by pre-determined size containers-1 lb for $8 for example. Otherwise how will you know how much sauce and/or pasta you'll need? And if Mrs Jones brings a bigger pot than Mrs Smith, is it fair for her to pay the same price? But then I always look for potential problems; it might not even be an issue.
Good luck with your dinner, however you decide to do it!

We are planning a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for April. We have gotten the sauce, but need the pasta, still. We have an idea of having a take-out type meal. For example, bring your own pot, and we'll fill it for $8.00. Has anyone ever done anything like that before? We are also thinking that we would try to sell desserts as well, and having a loaf of Italian bread to go with the pasta. Does this sound like a good deal? We figure if it's all donation,t hen it's all profit. What do the experts think....
