Do most schools do multiple fundraisers each year?

We are doing multiple fundraisers throughout the year, no door to door stuff because of location. This year we are doing; Carnival and Silent Auction, PE Uniforms, Book Fair and Cook Book. I don't miss door to door sales as in the States I didn't let my kids participate...just wrote a check for our portion.

I have been wondering, do most schools do 1 large fundraiser each year or multiple fundraisers?

My son is in elementary school, a very small one, and as soon as one sale ends another begins. First it was a brochure sale, then raffle, then candle sales. Is this how most do it? I am in a small community and you kind of just keep hitting up the same people over and over. And people get tired of it. I'm all for schools raising money...they have to and I understand that.

I contacted the president about holding 1 fundraiser involving sales and a festival, but said the teachers are not willing to participate in the festival. So now what?

Just wanted some other thoughts on this. Thanks!
