I found that directly calling the company and asking to speak to the individual in charge of donations works better. After they company committed to making a donation I followed up with a letter thanking them for the donation, outlined the date of the event, what the event was for, outlined the pick up arrangements and offered to send the photos of the event afterwards to display in their business or to advertise. Then followed up with a thank you letter after the event.

Hi!! I am a virgin to ask ing for donations and am not quite sure how to write a letter asking for donations from our local businesses. If anyone has sample letters that they can send me to aid me in my quest to procure donations from the local businesses, it would be appreciated. Am looking for letters for donations of money, time, supplies, freebies for our school, etc. Any and all suggestions, help is welcome.

Thanks in advance to any and everyone who responds.
