Yes...... we did that as well this year. But we are 30 miles from a major city. I would like to go coorporate this up and coming school year.

With the economy, we had some real serious problems getting parents to donate. Our school budgets are being severely cut and we have been limited as what we can do fundraiser wise.

Because of our location, our silent auction is limited to what the parents donate. We ask just before summer break for parents to bring back something to donate to their student's class "theme" basket. We have one theme per class in elementary and a theme per level in middle and high school. This was a big hit last year and we did well. :cool:

Hi everyone..I am relatively new to the board of forums, although I am a frequent reader.

Although school is about to end, I wanted to get some feedback from you and your schools you represent concerning silent auctions.

I seen posts concerning "mailing lists" which I am not too familiar with. I also seen a marvelous idea on contacting local radio stations.

What other ideas do you incorporate into your schools auctions and were they sucessful?
