melloweer, don't give up on scrip! NSC may have had its problems, but they obviously did very well for many years. There are other scrip centers out there. I think it's still worth your looking into, particularly these days where people aren't able to give as generously as they were in the past.

We ordered from them the past 2 years and placed an order the first week of school this year and never received it. I have ask for a full refund, request 11/03 and have yet to receive it. Every time I call to check status I'm told another couple of weeks. Any suggestions on getting my refund?

I'm not surprised that the NSC is done with this, they have have been suffering. We used them last year and they started off ok, but really started getting bad at Christmas. When they changed their turnaround time to 10 to 14 days, we knew we couldn't use htem anymore, because of hte way we run our program. We are not owed anything by NSC, and I am sorry that the founding Scrip company has had to close, but this is America and competition will do that to you if you don't/can't keep up with supply and demand. Now Melloweer, please don't think that all Scrip companies are like this, because they are not! We used NSC last year, our first year using Scrip, and with particiaption of about 80 families, we made $15,000! So don't toss this aside as a fundraiser. There is a lot of money to be made. And Great Lakes Scrip is an awesome company to deal with. So, Good luck to School Pop!

We've never used this as fundraising. But I wanted to say thanks for following and reporting this story. We were going to go with this fundraiser and the same week I found this message board. After reading what everyone was saying about the program we decided not to do any form of this. Thanks again for saving us before we got into a bunch of trouble and hassle

Well, looks like the inevitable has happened after these long last few months: the National Scrip Center is out of the git card/scrip business.

We'll be following this story closely. Any of you NSC scrip groups, we'd love to here about your experiences amidst these changes. Is it a seamless transition? Are you out any $$? Anything else?
