ink cartridges

Quick question to those of you who use KashforKids & Empties4cash.com ....

How many cartridges have you sent in that haven't passed inspection? We're just starting & I thought I had a great company until I checked out the prices at Kash & Empties.

I know some places (such as Staples) say that 40% of the cartridges they received DON'T pass approval so you don't get paid! --Mind you, they only pay $1.00 so they don't compare anyway but I just wondered if all the companies have this kind of loss.

Thanks for your help!

Just an FYI. In our private catholic school - our teachers have to buy their own paper! Since the profit per cartridge is rather small, we've been donating the cartridges to the teachers. They then take them to Office Depot and receive free reams of paper.

We've been using Kash for Kids with a fair amount of success ($400+ for April, May, June and a couple of drop offs this summer). We put out a flyer, and have been fortunate enough to get a parent that works in the computer section of a firm who brings us LOADS of laser toners, and a teacher who has a friend in a corporation that brings us some too.

To say participation from the student body is tepid is an overstatement, but if you get those willing to collect from around town or donate from their companies you can do quite well with very little work. The hardest part is the packing-- the boxes can't be less than 10 lbs or more than 45 if you want to use the UPS labels they provide from the internet. I was surprised at how quickly the money adds up!

We have had great expeience with this! It is a great way to make money for nothing. We use Empties4cash.com

Just like the other company above there is no cost to you. They send you pre paid mailing boxes, posters, & flyers. They issue you a check in 5 business days.

We use Kash for Kids too, and are very happy. There is NO cost involved. They provide you with a small box to send smaller cartridges in (post paid) and you have the ability to print the shipping labels for larger boxes on line...again, no cost. The check comes in about 2-3 weeks. We also have a company that donates...you can put in the school newsletter or even in the local paper and get even more donations. Many companies ship their larger printer cartridges (such as HP type) back to the company because it's free. Let them know they can help the school and you might be surprised how much you can get donated.

We started collecting this year. We have had a great response from parents and the checks are processed quickly w/ the company we use. We use Kash for kids

We also have a couple companies that use a LOT of printer cartridges and the coordinator picks them up. It's very cool & easy money!
