How do you raise money if you don't charge for something. Doesn't soound like a good fundraiser to me. You sould get rid of it!!

hi, we have a bingo night at least once a year. check with your state gambling board for rules, in va you don't need a licence if you aren't going to make $25,000 or more. We don't charge admission, we charged for the cards and the stamper things and soda and whatever food we have. We canvased the area for donations for bingo, did fairly well, we also asked the parents to donate things. This year we also had a basket raffle the same night, we had parents donate, each grade level had a theme, baking, arts and crafts, etc. Everyone seems to really have fun. Good luck. maggie

Hi all - do you have a bingo night? Illegal to charge admission? We currently don't charge admission and spend $500 on dumb prizes for the kids. Last year they did a 50/50 raffle - but I don't like the idea at a school function. How do you handle bingo night? We thought of a book bingo but current co-chairs won't run it that way. What are your thoughts?
Thanks - Mary
