Wal-Mart Matching Grant Info

18 years 3 months ago #90703 by PTOCES
I received a check for $1,000.00 today from my Wal-Mart on the matching grant. They matched our annual Fun Run which brought in over $11,000.00. Just thought I would bring this back to the front so that people wouldn't forget that this money IS available in EVERY Wal-Mart.

I have applied for the grat before and received $500 as well. I kind of forgot about it and it has been a few years so thank you for the reminder I will go there today.

We just found out that our $500.00 check is in at our local Walmart. Just waiting for them to make a date with the newspaper for a picture with us and the big check.

I wrote to our local Walmart asking for a simple donation and the Grant Coordinator called me and said she was going to put us in for a grant. Its been about 5 months since that phone call but its finally here.

We were told that they were going to update their site to let people print off the grant papers on line. I didn't check before I posted. I have since checked and realized that you can still not print them off. The best bet is just to go into your local WM.

Sorry Regina!!

Could you provide a link to the grant application? I can not seem to locate this on the website.
Thanks

The reason why Feb 1 is an important date is because it is WM's fiscal year beginning. If you have a store that is known for giving out their grant money, this date is HUGE because there are people waiting in line to see the Grant Coordinator that day. ( Like there was at our store) The only other issue is that the forms change from time to time and you have to be on the correct form. ( The form per Home Office is changing, but hadn't as of yesterday). If the form DOES change, then you will need to reapply on the correct form.
Apparently the store that you go to Rubymama doesn't have a lot of reqests. I am glad that you are able to get $$ from there. Most stores will not take applications for the following year until Feb 1.
Clarkslittlehelper- go to www.walmartfoundation.org and print off the application forms. If the new form isn't on there, just use last year's. And NO a Wal-Mart associate DOES NOT have to help you for a bonus grant. If you are doing a matching grant and it is done by the books, yes you have to have an associate HELPING with the event. ASK AN ASSOCIATE!! Surely someone knows someone who works at WM!!! They only have to help you, they don't have to be the coordinator or even have a student in the school. If you have anymore trouble out of that particular store call 1800walmart an tell them about it. They will fix it. Or, you can email them i think thru there website. www.walmart.com
Thanks
