Our spellathon went very well. In a school with only 400 students and only k - 2nd we made over $7000. Our PTO only keeps 20% and the rest goes back into the class rooms.

We're planning a jumpathon, but I'm pretty sure we're doing it outside regular school hours. Was your spellathon a fundraiser as well?

I'm looking for anyone who has done a walkathon before. Our PTO would like to have one and have ideas on what we want to do, but our principal is not on board because he doesn't see how he could explane why we are doing a fundraiser during school and taking kids out of the classroom. We were hoping to call it PE time while the classes are out walking since out PE was cut. We need help.
I told out principal that i would look into schools who have done it and how the principal justified taking class time. All this doesn't really make since . We have a spellathon and that is during school.
