kid-oriented fundraisers

With Valentines Day upon us, why not do Valentines Candy Grams. You can order lollipops and sell them for a dollar. Parents can send them to kids and the kids can send them to friends and teachers. We are in the process of doing this now and the orders are phenominal. Almost every kid is buying 10 of them.

We orderd ours from cedarcreekfundraising.com They are heart shaped and come with a to/from card.

They will be delivered to the classrooms on Valentines day. However, the PTO will give one to any kid that did not get one sent to them and we will sign it "From a secret Friend".

I am knee-deep in planning a new playground for our school. i am interested in getting the kids involved in fund-raising(even if the profit is low). we have 2 larger events being planned (golf outing & walk-a-thon) but i was wondering if anyone had a quick, easy, low-maintenance way to get the kids involved in making money. One thought is to collect recyling cans/bottles, another is a car-wash in the spring. Penny collections are out b/c our school does a penny program for charity.
any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!
