Money Matching - help with how to's

I believe that you contact the local manager to put in the paperwork for you. That's what we were told to do.

Cool! I appreciate the info. For Walmart do we contact the store Manager or Corporate? We also have other large corporations near us like Intel & General Mills. I know that Intel does many things for schools, I guess it's just a matter of finding out the right contact people to see what they will do.

Again thanks so much!

In our school a parent set up a fund for matching grants... So the point is that you can even approch the parents or perhaps some of the businesses that the parents work for.

The matching grant does not have to come from one source. Maybe have a parent commit to $1000 only of someone else gives the same... It is just a way of encourging parents to give more money....

Yes, it is definately doable. Wal Mart has helped us before and also Modern Woodmen of America has matched funds up to so much around here. Our banks help us out too (we have 2 banks in our county).

We have an unwritten rule about not having our kids sell things. We are raise several thousand dollars per year like this.

The school near us does this as their only fundraising event. They seem to do fairly well with it.

We did a money matching drive a couple of years ago for a school lawn mower. Walmart not only matched up to $1000 they let us collect the money outside their doors and discounted the riding lawn mower. I would recomend not going to far into a money drive. Our school prefers to measure success by how many parents does it bring into the school rather than finacial measurements. However it would be an easy fundraiser that could be extreemly sucessful. We raised enough for our lawn mower with extra to boot in just one saturday afternnon.
