Stealing from fundraisers

Wow, we're having a bad year.

This is what we've had happen. Suggestions and comments are welcome.

1. Parent took orders--we're guessing over $200.00 worth based on the calls we're getting. The parent kept the orders and the money. The customers--who are untrackable unless they have called us--are demanding their money back and are upset--understandable, huh?

2. Parent who INSISTS that she sent in her order and money--she didn't--the daughter, who is very reliable, says "Maybe it's in my bedroom" or actually, "I think I remember my dog eating my order form and we couldn't read it so my threw it away".

3. Parents calling about kids not delivering their product when they have paid, demanding refunds.

Evidently, situation # 1 above--the parents move around alot and this is a regular occurance for them. Stealing money from unsuspecting people.

This is by far the worst year for us. Obviously, we have some dishonest parents...and what can we REALLY do about it, other than bar them from future fundraisers--district wide. We have yet to figure out who some of the kids are who have sold to these people and not turned order forms in. I've probably had 15 calls at least.
