I am new here and very interested in the list for donations. Could someone please e-mail me this list? My e-mail address is: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Also, when you auction these items do you set a minimum price, if so, how do you decide on a minimum? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Debbi

I haven't done solicitations for any school fundraiser yet, but I do work on the auction committee for a major nonprofit organization, and my best luck has been with e-mail. After that, a fax, then snail mail--but only if I have to. The key is to find out the name of the person it needs to go to, then address it specifically to that person. Letters addressed just to the company are a waste of time. It's also helpful to ask for something specific, versus just asking them to help you out generally.

I was wondering what your opinion is on the best way to contact businesses regarding donation requests. Would I be better to send a letter via snail mail, or fax it? What do you think would be the best way to send our donation requests?

Thanks so much.
