We are going to try fuseable beads this year at our spring carnival. All you need is an iron, and beads. AC Moore sells them in boxes of 22,000 which is more than enough. The also sell different templates that you can use and idea books. You can go to www.perlerbeads.com for some more examples of things that you can do with beads. I am a daycare provider and have kids from ages 3-11 and they all love to do the beads -especially the boys!!!

We did spin art last year at our festival. We decided not to do it again this year but it wasn't because the kids didn't like it but because we needed more helpers than the two per hour that we had and just couldn't get all the kids through. Also it took a while to dry. We are going to try hair painting this year along with the very popular face painting that we always have. Has anyone else tried the hair painting?

What about letting them decorate their own bag that they can use to put all their goodies/candy/prizes in from the carnival? Like another poster mentioned, you could use stamps or markers, paint, cut outs, etc. to decorate them. We decorated small bags at our Christmas Family Night. They were brown bags we bought at Hobby Lobby 2/$1 (about the size of your hand)and we decorated them to look like reindeer. Maybe you could decorate them to look like a school mascot or something similar and season appropriate.

Do you have a stamping rep. that could do a quick card with the kids? Who knows there may be a boy or two that would enjoy making a card, bag, or whatever she can come up with! Does anyone know oragmi(sp)?

www.orientaltrading.com may have some ideas for you too!!

We're adding a make it and take it craft booth to our spring carnival and I am in charge of finding said craft. But I'm having hard time thinking of anything that's easy, simple and not horribly messy. It also has to appeal to kids from 4-10 years of age, which is going to be rather tough.

Any suggestions? What worked for you? The only thing I've come up with so far is sand art.
