An alliteration like "Reading Raptors" is catchy. (Hawks are raptors.) You could stick with school mascot-themed prizes and decorations/posters.

Hello all,
I am the co-chair of our schools fall read-a-thon. Our school teaches only 5th and 6th graders, and because of this age we are having some challenges in developing a theme. Our mascot is a black hawk and our colors are red and black. Last years theme was "reach for the top" a good one but one that is hard to support with prizes etc.
If anyone has a creative idea for this age group, I would welcome suggestions.
