Advice starting our Scrip program

My program is going into its 3rd year... I take orders approximately every other week and more frequently before Christmas and the end of the year. I only take cash and checks - we have had the request for credit cards but that eats into your profit and my principal didn't want to.

We got taken for about $1300 from SripAdvantage and switched over to Great Lakes - AWESOME COMPANY!

I send an order form home in the brown envelope the week before and order. I also email it to those that have given me thier email. People just turn it into the office and the school secretary puts it in a large "scrip" envelope for me. I compile the orders and make the order online.

I have a few helpers that hand out the scrip on the Friday of the week it is ordered on Tuesday. I leave the rest in the office and the school secretary will hand it out to those who could not pick it up on Friday.

We do not stock with the exception of 2-3 local grocery stores that I purchase diectly from the store.

This year we plan on expanding to include sales at church on Sunday (it's a Catholic school) and stock grocery stores, Starbucks, Wendys, and a few others.

Any other questions? just ask!

We are new this year starting our Scrip fundraising program and need some advice on everything from how often to take orders, checks/cash only (if by cc or debit - how do you do that?), do you send home with students or make parents pick up during specific days....? ANY ADVICE would be so appreciated....!
