Starting Bingo

Bingo is considered a game of chance. In other words, it is considered gambling. Schools and school districts, not to mention county, state and local service groups, may have a problem with you doing that. Do your homework first. Check with the principal. Does the school allow games of chance to be used in fundraising? Then check with the district offices. And so on. Be sure to check with your local service groups, like the Elks, Jaycees, Kiwanas, Optimists, etc. You don't want to step on their toes. If you do all your homework and everything checks out, no one says you can't, and you aren't stepping on anyones toes, check with the IRS. I don't think they'll have a problem with it, but you never know.

Good Luck!

Can anyone send me information on starting a bingo fundraiser? This is for a Texas PTO and I would like to know if there are any legalities prohibiting having a fundraiser such as this and if not, are there any formalities that we must do to begin this? Any input is greatly appreciated This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
