High School Fundraiser Night

For classroom fundraisers, I did several different things. Human-i-tees doesn't require a minimum order, and they are very planet concious. I really like their products, and the T-shirts are of the best quality. They are a bit steep on pricing, but soooooo worth it. Plus, they do all the work except the selling. I also did the community card, the one where you get a free something with the purchase of another something, usually pizza and fast food places).
The class could sponsor a Battle Of The Bands. My son's school just did this. What an awesome idea! They charged $2 at the door. They didn't provide refreshments (I would have sold cokes and water bottles...lol...). I would have awarded the top 3 bands (something like $100 to first place, $50 to second and $25 to 3rd) and still would have made out! They collected over $1200 at the door and gave the winning band half. I asked my son how many people were there and he said it was packed. There was dancing in the aisles, jumping and screaming and all around good fun. You could have your son's class do the clean up after and then go spend the money.
Good Luck!

I thought about your idea of having someone speak. That would be a great idea. Have someone talk about college, ie financial aid available; or talk about retirement, financial goals. Or even a doctor/nurse talk about menopause. How about career development? Parents can talk about their field of expertise, and invite college counselors.

Hope you come up with some good stuff!

Have you done a (silent) auction? Perhaps students could "donate" their services. Such as bidding on babysitting, car washes, homework helper, housecleaning, painting, mow lawns, grocery shopping, etc. Maybe their parents can donate also. Do any of them have a landscaping company, beauty/massage place.....Or can local businesses donate packages such as these.

Hope that helps,
Lisa

Elvis huh? Sounds interesting. I bet the kids would get a kick out of that. I'll pass it along. Thanks

Okay this may really be out there but we had an open house for our new school and had "Elvis" with friends as the main entertainment. This wasn't a fundraiser but the kids had a BLAST dancing to the music and of course "Elivs" REALLY put on a great show for everyone! How did I find him? An Elvis Fan Club of course! I don't like to admit this but my husband is a member (Elvis isn't dead, he just went home!) and we have become friends with many of the members.
Have you done a car wash? that's fun too. Our church youth group holds a garage sale with items that are in good condition that have been donated.....How's that for a start? ;)

In adition to my elementary school children, I also have a son in high school. His class is in need of a fundraiser night. The school already does a lip sync. contest. The Queen for a Day event in a box looked interesting. Does anybody have other ideas? It could even be someone we hire to come in and charge admission. Help!!!
