Photo Booth Cut Outs

The simpler the better. You can add some embellishments. On the cheerleader we drilled holes where her hands are and inserted pompoms. On the clown, there is a small hole in the hand and we add a balloon bouquet. We have cowboy hats and crowns to go with the other.

Try some high school art students. They probably have experience drawing the mascot.

Also, don't use the plywood that looks like scraps of wood. Use the stuff that looks like is pressed sawdust. The other stuff is pretty rough when you cut out the neck. The pressed sawdust cuts much smoother. MDF would probably work, but it is heavy.

We used closet brackets to set them up and then weighted them down with sandbags.

Thank you so much for the input. We are wanting to work on this during the summer since after school starts things are NUTS. I will definately have to start looking for coloring patterns. I have an overhead projector I can use the enlarge the patterns and then paint them. Thanks for the heads-up on the finish also, because I would have definately "sealed" them. I am hoping to find a picture of our mascot also... which is a Wildcat... to encourage the older kids! Thanks again.

We made several of these a couple of years ago. I had trouble finding a pattern and finally used coloring books. (Try your kindergarten teachers!) We did a football player, cheerleader, cowboy, cowgirl, princess, and clown. Just look for a simple drawing that you can remove the neck from.

One word of warning. DO NOT use spray poly over them. It will cause your pictures to glare. Voice of experience.

Last year we talked about wanting to have a photo booth at our Homecoming Day Activities. The ones we were thinking about were the ones with the face cut out and you stand and put your face through.... well, we never could find any patterns for these. Has anyone ever used these? Do you have any idea where we might could find patterns to make them? Thanks for any information.

Oh, and as an "aside".... we did do Halloween and Santa Claus digital photos at the school. Our students dress up for Halloween as part of Drug Free Week and we had a great turn out for pictures.
