A lot of stores will give you a gift certificate, so if you are lucky enough to get too many donations, you can use the gift card at a later date. I would definately approach more than one store, and perhaps even ask specifically for a gift card donation to purchase supplies.

I am the new fundraising coordinator which means I will be doing much of the donation asking. I have done this before, but never for dinner.

As a PTO were only starting our 3rd year. last year we were asked to do the dinner last minute so we had to purchase everything.

We are having an Open House dinner and I have written my letter, but I am a little nervous if they say no and then it is too late to send out more requests.

I really don't want to purchase much or anything at all.

Should I put in a request to other stores? Then that is bad if they all say yes. I still have 8 weeks. How do other schools approach this to ensure a donation?

Thanks!
